Research Use Only Notice

This Research Use Only Notice ("RUO Notice") applies to every product listed by Patricia Saunders, operating as Ontario Bio Sciences ("Ontario Bio Sciences", "we", "us", "our") on https://www.ontariobiosciences.com (the "Site") and to every order that follows from a request sent through it. Read it with our Terms of Service, of which it forms part. Where the two differ, the Terms of Service control.

1. For research use only

All products are supplied strictly for in vitro laboratory research and scientific investigation by qualified persons in a suitable facility. They are not intended for, and must not be used for, human consumption, animal consumption, or any clinical, therapeutic, diagnostic, prophylactic, cosmetic or veterinary application.

"Research Use Only" on our products, labels and documentation means that these compounds have not been evaluated, approved or authorized by the United States Food and Drug Administration, Health Canada or any other regulatory authority for any use in humans or animals. They are not drugs, dietary supplements, natural health products, food additives, cosmetics or medical devices. The label states the only use we supply them for. It is not a licence, and it does not change what the law where you are requires of you.

2. Not evaluated by any regulator

No statement on the Site or in any associated material has been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, Health Canada or any other regulator. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, and nothing on the Site is medical, veterinary or scientific advice.

3. No medical or therapeutic claims

Ontario Bio Sciences makes no representation, warranty or claim, express or implied, that any product:

• is safe or effective for use in or on humans or animals;
• will produce any particular biological, physiological or therapeutic effect in a living organism; or
• is suitable for any purpose other than research conducted in an appropriate laboratory setting by qualified personnel.

Where the Site refers to published literature, it describes what that literature reports about a substance. It is not a claim about our product and does not mean our product was used in that research.

We do not publish customer reviews, testimonials or before-and-after claims, and we do not pay or otherwise incentivise anyone to write about our products. Any such statement that appears elsewhere is not ours and is not endorsed by us.

4. No dosing or protocol information

We do not provide dosing, administration, reconstitution-for-use or protocol information for use in humans or animals, and we refuse any request for it. Product pages state form, mass, purity and storage conditions so that a product can be identified and stored correctly. Nothing on them is an instruction for use in a living organism.

5. Buyer responsibility

By requesting or purchasing any product you accept sole responsibility for:

• ensuring that acquiring, importing, possessing, using and disposing of the product complies with every federal, provincial, state and local law that applies to you, and that you hold any licence, permit or registration the law requires;
• acting as importer of record, and bearing all duties, taxes and customs consequences, if an order crosses a border (see section 4.3 of the Terms of Service);
• implementing the safety, containment and handling procedures appropriate to the compound;
• ensuring that everyone who handles the product is qualified, trained and working in a suitable research environment; and
• every consequence of misuse, unauthorized use or use inconsistent with this Notice.

Ontario Bio Sciences disclaims all liability for harm, loss or damage to persons, property or otherwise arising from any use of a product outside laboratory research, to the extent the law allows.

6. Certificate of analysis

A certificate of analysis from an independent third-party laboratory (named on each certificate) is provided for each lot, with the shipment or on request with your order reference. It documents the identity and purity tested for that lot and is the product's specification. Certificates are provided for non-clinical research reference only and do not imply authorization for any human or animal use. Review the certificate before use and decide for yourself whether the product suits your research. If a product does not match its certificate on independent retest, section 8.3 of the Terms of Service gives you a replacement or refund.

7. Age

Products may be requested only by a person who has reached the age of majority where they live, and in any case is at least 18 years old. By sending a request you confirm that you meet this requirement.

8. Regulatory status is yours to check

It is your responsibility to determine the regulatory status of a product where you are before you order. A compound may be subject to import restrictions, prescription-drug or controlled-substance rules, or other requirements that differ by country, province or state. We do not give legal or regulatory advice. If you are unsure whether you may lawfully import or possess a compound, ask a qualified professional before ordering.
