Overview
DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is an endogenous nonapeptide, Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu, first isolated in 1974 from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits. No receptor, gene or precursor protein has been identified, so its mechanism remains open. The small human literature dates from the 1980s and 1990s, and a 2006 review describes that evidence base as poorly documented. Supplied lyophilized for in-vitro research use.
