5-Amino-1MQ

Metabolic · 50 mg fill · Research Peptide

A small-molecule NNMT inhibitor used as a research tool for probing nicotinamide methylation in cell culture.

Overview

5-Amino-1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small-molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), the enzyme that transfers a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine to nicotinamide. Because NNMT sits upstream of the NAD+ salvage pathway, the compound is used in vitro to probe NNMT activity and nicotinamide flux. The published record is limited and preclinical. Supplied for in-vitro research use.
